Lines and Paths in a Coffee Cup: Roads, Obstacles and Crossroads
Lines are read as movement. A clear, straight line or road means a journey, progress or a direct way to what you want. A wavy line suggests a winding route with changes, and a broken line points to interruptions that still lead on. Two lines crossing are a crossroads and a decision.
Readers look at where a road leads. Toward the handle it is coming home or a matter coming to you, toward the far side it is travel or growth away from your current place.
Dark blocks on a path are obstacles, often people or paperwork that slow things down. If the path continues past them, the obstacle is read as temporary.
